Halmstad Theatre is part of Destination Halmstad AB and has been a meeting place for culture, conferences, and events since 1954.

With three stages and well-equipped facilities, we offer everything from concerts and theatre to large conferences. We are now looking for a sound and lighting technician who wants to contribute to ensuring that our productions maintain high quality and provide added value to artists, organizers, and our audience.

What you will do

As part of our technical team, you will work closely with productions and organizers on everything from loading and rigging to operation and de-rigging. You will be responsible for sound and lighting work during performances, including sound checks and operation, as well as rigging spotlights and counterweight balancing in entrances. You will build decor and podiums, operate stage equipment, and ensure that technical equipment is in top condition.

In addition to performances, you will support conferences and meetings with technical assistance and furniture arrangements. The role also involves responsibility for order in technical areas, inventory and procurement of equipment, as well as some involvement in drama pedagogical programs.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with practical experience in stage technology and who thrives in an environment where sound and light are crucial for the overall experience. You have worked closely with productions and organizers and are accustomed to handling both preparations and operation during performances. Your expertise allows you to contribute to creating professional and memorable events.

Requirements:

• Documented experience in stage technology, preferably from theatre, concerts, or tours
• Good understanding of sound and lighting technology

Meritorious:

• Several years of experience in stage technology
• Relevant education in sound and light

About the recruitment process

After the application period has ended, we will review the applications and get back to you with feedback. If you meet the requirements, you will receive tests to complete, followed by a phone check-in, competency-based interview, and candidate meeting with union collaboration. We always check references for the final candidate.
